Item description from seller

This is a Very Good Copy of this fragile book in Publisher's original Pictorial soft covers with text to the front cover in red and green and with pictorial mounted plate in rectangular shape to the front cover. The binding is stapled and with string cord.Small chip to the bottom left corner of the upper cover, rubbed along edges. What makes this book so attractive and rare is that it bears the signature and inscription of the Illustrator Walton Corbould to the front endpaper page. It's been signed also to his Uncle and reads. '' To Uncle Henry from Walton Corbould Nov 24th 04 '' Illustrated with superb detailed drawings by Corbould in colour and each accompanies the rhyming text beginning with three small mice, then three bold mice, three cold mice, three hungry mice, three starved mice, three glad mice, three poor mice, three scared mice, three sad mice, three blind mice, three sick mice, three wise mice and ending with three proud mice. There is some intermittent foxing throughout the book but there are NO loose leaves and no additional inscriptions or children's doodlings internally.A great addition to any serious children's collection and most certainly a rare title with Corbould's very personal inscription etc and dated in the year of publication.Unpaginated but with 14 pages. First Edition [1904] Walton Corbould Illustrator: Walton Corbould was a Suffolk artist and illustrator and for a time on the staff of 'The World' and was the author of the 'Mother Goose' stories and others. Walton Corbould died at 12 Woodgrange Avenue, Ealing, Middlesex on 13 April 1919.
