Item description from seller

18 : 30,5 cm. 68 pages with coloured photographic illustrations, 1 signed and numbered C-Print C-Print by Marius Born. Original boards with coloured illustrated original wrappers in original board-box. First edition . - One of 30 copies of the special deluxe edition, with the signed and numbered C-Print (Photo-Print) "Tameike-Sanno Subway Station, Tokyo, March 6, 8.30 a.m." by Marius Born. Collective order is the term Swiss photographer Marius Born uses to describe urban life in Tokyo, which forms the subject of this volume. Born’s images depict a system of social order which appears alien to him. The dominance of order is so extreme that even the homeless neatly lay out their sleeping mats in a park and children in an amusement park are identified by the numbers that they wear. Born succeeds in capturing this order in his images, revealing the empty spaces even in crowded public spaces. Thus the path to the subway, along which the masses stream during the day, becomes the site of a solitary stroll. Similarly a bicycle ride to the grounds of the Imperial Palace turns into a leisurely outing.
