This edition of the book was presented at a Book Launch at the Ramada Plaza Hotel on Saturday, 26 May, 2001. The launch and subsequent reception was to mark the 35th anniversary of the independence of Guyana. The programme for the event is laid in. The collected poems represent the lifetime output of this distinguished Guyanese poet. A.J. Seymour (1914-1989) was a prolific writer and in the forefront of the "new" West Indian poetry movement. His work spans the colonial times, independence, the history and folklore of Guyana, and the West Indies in general. This copy of the book is fine in a fine dust jacket. Signed by the Editor.
