Add to basketRefer to her as you will - the Doyenne of Chocolate, The First Lady of Chocolate, the Queen of Chocolate - Alice Medrich has undoubtedly been a highly influential figure in the world of chocolate and in particular chocolate desserts. She also introduced America to the delights of chocolate truffles. Cocolat was a small chain of innovative chocolate dessert shops in the San Francisco Bay area in the 1970s and 80s, and this book was published just before tragedy struck and ultimately bought the empire to an untimely end. This multi-award winning book not only gives recipes, but also gives insights into Alice's techniques and methods enabling the reader to produce the "designer desserts" for which she was famous. This copy of the first printing is signed by Medrich on the title page. There is an inscription on front pastedown and some slight wear and fading to the cloth spine, but a very good copy in a very good, edgeworn dust jacket with a nick to corner of front panel. A production flaw has also left some creases in the laminate down the front and rear panels. MC.
