Rectangular in shape; approximately 6.25 inches tall, and 8.25 inches across. Hardcover copies from the Clifford the Big Red Dog Series published by Four Winds Press are virtually impossible to locate without a library past of some sort. This is a rare, unique exception. Binding and hinges are sound. Book is clean; no writing within; no stamps etc. Illustrated black boards show light shelf-rubbing along edge tips. Original black endpapers are bright. White titles on spine are bright. Rear panel shows light rubbing on panel as a result of no dust jacket. An incredibly difficult first edition to track down in hardcover without any library past. Clifford the Big Red Dog was named the Official mascot of Scholastic Books. After first being introduced, the Clifford series has spawned 75+ titles. The Clifford books have sold in excess of 150 million units; and has been translated into 13 languages. Offered here is one of the earliest Clifford titles; and considered by many to be their favorite Clifford title; Clifford's Halloween. A rare offering of the classic title from the classic series; from 1966. First edition, first printing with a loosely laid-in bookplate hand-signed by author, illustrator and Clifford creator, the late Norman Bridwell.
