First Edition / Limited Edition. Hardcover. Thick, massive square quarto (approx. 12 lbs). White woven cloth with black stamped spine titles. Housed in publisher's original glossy black illustrated paper-covered slipcase. 695 pages. Richly illustrated with photographic plates (many fold-out), architectural schematics, engineering layouts, maps, and an authentic bound-in swatch of the white nylon fabric used in the installation. This is the definitive, deluxe documentation of Christo and Jeanne-Claude's landmark 24.5-mile temporary fabric installation in Sonoma and Marin Counties, California (1972-1976). From a limited printing of 2,159 copies, this example is hand-numbered #334 and signed boldly by Christo on the limitation page. Condition: Very Good / Very Good slipcase. Book is exceptionally clean, square, and tight. White cloth remains bright with sharp corners. Minor discoloration on spine. Internal pages are pristine and unmarked. Crucially, the heavy text block shows no evidence of the structural spine sag or hinge strain common to this massive title. Slipcase is structurally sound with robust edges and corners, showing only superficial surface scuffing to the high-gloss laminate finish. Copy sold on behalf of the Indianapolis Public Library Foundation; completely free of library markings, pockets, or stamps. Securely packed in a heavy-duty box, fully insured with signature confirmation required upon delivery. ***100% of the proceeds from this sale directly support the Indianapolis Public Library Foundation, funding crucial community programs and literacy resources. Buy with absolute confidence from an established institutional seller!***.…
