About this Item
First Edition (Praeger= 'Published (year)'. Once listed, this will be the Only copy of this title for sale anywhere on the Internet. It is also signed and inscribed by the author on the blank first front end paper. The inscription reads: 'For Marjorie + Les, with my love-- Happy Birthday and Happy New Year. Samuel Edwards or Noel B Gerson, Dec. 31, 1975.' You can see the blue covers of the book in the photos. They are in terrific condition, very clean and pretty much free of any wear. The edges and corners are in excellent shape. The spine looks very good. The black lettering on the spine is bright. The page edges are clean. The book is square and the spine is straight. The binding is very solid from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. The interior of the book is in just as excellent condition. The pages appear to be perfectly clean. The white inside covers and end papers are very clean. I don't see any creasing on any of the pages. There are no markings. No attachments. And with the exception of the author's signed inscription, no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. You can see the dust jacket in the first few photos. It has a little bit of wear. There is a small tear off the front top edge. There is some scuffing at the top and bottom edges of the spine and at the corners. The white flaps are clean. The top edge of the rear flap has a little tear. The jacket is NOT price-clipped, not clipped at all. It will be fitted with a protective cover after the photos are scanned. From the dust jacket: 'From the master storyteller and author of the international best seller about oil 'The Exploiters', here is another novel as current as this morning's headlines. Set in New York, in Washington, and in the Basque provinces of Spain, it is a story about the Basques' fierce struggle for independence from their Spanish oppressors, about conniving and manipulating in the highest echelons of the art world, and about decisions made by men seeking the presidency of the United States. The Caves of Guernica resounds with echoes of the bombing of Guernica during the Spanish Civil War, of recent machinations in the high-priced world of art, and of the ever present and unyielding demands of the politically oppressed.'.
