William Kean Seymour's collection of poetry, a first edition. Most of these poems appeared previously in English periodicals and anthologies, such as Edith Sitwell'sWheels, Guy Partwee'sThe New Spirit in Verse and others. Seymour was the husband of author Beatrice Kean Seymour.A signed copy to the verso of the front free endpaper, dated 1931. With an original poem inscribed to Margaret Gosling:'Summer is blue and golden. SummerHath journeyed days,Is green, with flower-strown footstepsIn all her waysShe shall delight you with song and blossom,She hath my praise.But, in the dark of Winter, suddenAs light you came.You brought the gold of Summer,Her flowers and flame.Therefore I sing of Summer. And singingI sing your name.' In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally excellent with minor shelf wear only and a minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. The cloth is faintly spotted. Inscribed by the author to the verso of the front free endpaper with an original poem. Signed by the author, dated 1931. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with only some minor offsetting to the front free endpaper, as usual. Very Good.
