First edition SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR. xx, 267 pages. Hardcover: H 20.75cm x L 14.25cm. White dust jacket with minimal soiling, faint impression from removed bookseller sticker near shallow chipped spine heel. Blue cloth with vibrant gilt stamped spine lettering. Ink signature of Mississippi Democrat US Representative Thomas G. Abernethy (1903-1998; in office from 1943-1972) on front pastedown now unfortunately obscured under several bold swaths of black marker. A very good+ copy in a very good- dust jacket with Edward Morgan's signature upon the front free endpaper. Features a selection of commentaries and essays taken from Morgan's daily news radio broadcasts from January 3, 1955 to July 13, 1962. Edward Morgan (1910-1993) worked as a print journalist for two more than decades from 1932 into the early 1950s for United Press International, The Chicago Daily News, and other news media before moving to CBS where he was employed in both radio and television reporter roles. Morgan (1910-1993) shifted to the ABC Radio Network in the mid-1950s and eventually transferred to ABC News television in the early 1960s where he became one of several rotating anchors for The ABC Evening News until retirement in 1975.
