A presentation copy, inscribed by Atkinson and the artist Al Hirschfeld, who also sketched a humorous self-portrait of himself, to Rosamond Gilder. The daughter of Richard Watson Gilder, the iconic editor of Century Magazine, Rosamond was president of the International Theater Institute, a worldwide organization with 65 national centers, whose co-founders included J. B. Priestley, Julian Huxley, Tyrone Guthrie, Jean-Louis Barrault and Lillian Hellman. A compelling presentation copy.
