Add to basketThe author's second book, a Kentucky coal-mining novel. 241 pages. First edition (first printing, with the code "A-6.70 (H)" on the copyright page). This is a near fine copy in a dust jacket with minor wear to the corners and some shelfwear to the white rear panel. It is inscribed by Burke, "To Tom Garner, Best wishes, James Lee Burke." Laid in with this book is a note from Garner to Burke, sending books to be signed. On the back of the letter Burke wrote, "Mr. Garner, I insured the books, as at least one of them, To the Bright and Shining Sun, is quite valuable. Best wishes, Jim Burke." This copy is housed in one of the collector Tom Garner's distinctive black-cloth clamshell boxes, which has faded at the spine.
