First edition hard back binding in publisher's original white cloth spine and royal blue cloth covers, blue and gilt title and author lettering label to the spine and to the front cover. 8vo. 9½'' x 6''. Contains [x] 2, 245 printed pages of text with monochrome half-tones from photographs. Chapters include: Possibilities in amateur horse breeding; Breeding and care of mares before arrival of foal; Foaling and aftercare; Handling and training of colts during 1st, 2nd & 3rd year; Supplementary training; Breaking to saddle; Schooling jumpers, saddle horses; Problem horses; Higher education; Marketing, Sickness. Hand written number 19 of 1250 Limited Edition copies SIGNED by the author to the front free end paper 'To Windsor Holden White - Yours for ever more, and better horses Clarence C. Bosworth October 25th, 1939.' From the private library of Windsor Holden White with his polo bookplate to the front paste down. Spine slightly age darkened, small Booksellers ticket form 'The Crossroads of Sport, Inc. 15 East 54th Street, New York' inside, couple of small fox spots to the rear paste down and in Very Good condition.
