Half-bound in dark blue cloth, with grey marbled paper over boards. Thin printed paper label on spine missing part of bottom and part of top, leaving only "McFee / Born to be F", boards rubbed along edges, bookplate of Ingle Barr on front pastedown, otherwise internally clean. One of 91 copies (this is no. 2) signed by the author on the half title page, printed by James and Hilda Wells. 13 text pages. Additionally, this copy has a long authorial inscription on the front free endpaper "This was a project by a man who was a good printer. I regret his name escapes me now after so many years. The Great Depression caused him to - I almost said evaporate. Anyhow I never heard of him again. I once drove up to his Slide Mountain place. Lightning played around us as we climber the narrow road. All hand set and pulled by hand. / The incident is stark truth. No embroidery. It happened to me on that ship, in 1906-7. A near thing. / Wm.".
