The Black Pirates. South West Pacific 1942-44. Signed by editor/photographer Robert A. Merchant of the 400th Bombardment Squadron. [1944] printed by John Sands of Sydney; jacketed hardcover in very good vintage condition. Perhaps the only extant jacketed copy, this book features a presentation bookplate signed by Merchant - to poet Margaret Newman. Oblong hardcover with light to mild handling wear; generally tight/square and tidy; unmarked internally with only a few dust spots. Many very cool and scarce photographs and illustrations of WW2 locales, many from the air. Jacket is good, with typical handling wear, edgewear, rubbing. Seller Inventory # 20666
