Written by the then chair of the executive board of the Hospitals Centre the book marks the building, amalgamation and metamorphism of the voluntary hospitals in Birmingham to the Queen Elizabeth, Nuffield Nurses Home, Medical School etc. Forward by Sydney Vernon then Pro-Chancellor of the University of Birmingham and appendices listing the executive board, building committee, contributions to the appeal fund etc. The copy offered for sale by us is a presentation copy inscribed and signed by the author in ink on the front free end paper.
