Item description from seller

Offering: Ray Ring. Arizona Kiss. Boston: Little Brown, 1991. First edition, VG+ in like DJ that shows some light creasing on the upper right, front corner. It's also signed and dated "Tucson 1991" on the half title. Ray Ring is a journalist and crime writer best known for his vivid, investigative reporting and tightly plotted mystery novels rooted in the American Southwest. Before turning to fiction, Ring worked for High Country News, where his award-winning environmental and political journalism earned national recognition. His writing crackles with a deep familiarity of the land, its conflicts, and the uneasy characters who navigate it. Whether detailing corruption or crime, Ring brings a hard-edged literary style to the traditions of noir and western narrative. Arizona Kiss, his debut novel, marked his entry into fiction with both grit and critical acclaim. Arizona Kiss is a gritty Southwestern noir that follows Macky, a young, ambitious journalist in a small Arizona desert town. After publishing an exposé on criminal activities at a local mine, Macky is approached by Alice Malone, who seeks his help in exposing a powerful and corrupt judge involved in illegal dog fighting. As Macky delves deeper into the investigation, he becomes entangled in a web of deception, blackmail, and murder, challenging his ideals and survival instincts. Like I said, gritty Southwestern noir. This copy is signed and dated by the author in the year of publication. …

Store description

My name is Jim Camp, and I own and operate the synaesthesia press. First and foremost, the synaesthesia press is a very small, very independent publishing house specializing in broadsides and chapbooks letterpress printed in a small run. Authors and artists past published include Tosh Berman, Tim O’Brien, Barry Gifford, Charles Bukowski, and Charles Plymell, among others. As a bookseller, I offer a variety of inventory -- I especially love stuff that is considered generally subversive; for example, anything by or about Beatniks, Outlaws, Perverts, Weirdos, and Outsiders; good literary fiction (especially "dirty" and / or forgotten titles by forgotten authors) and almost anything by or about Bukowski. I love photography, especially found amateur snapshots and professionally made vintage photographic prints; little mags, zines, photo books, art books and Artists Books; and, finally, anything smutty or sleazy or erotic or cheesecake-related vintage publications, photos or ephemera. Thanks!…
