First edition (so stated). Octavo. 4 photographs from the New York production. Dust jacket (unclipped; few nicks). Very good. 184 pages. Signed ("Phil Yordan") by Yordan, and signed and inscribed by John Wildberg (producer of the play) to composer Harold Arlen on front free endpaper, August, 1948: "With the hope that he joins our team." First presented at the Mansfield Theatre, New York City, August 30, 1944; filmed in 1949 by Columbia, starring Paulette Goddard and Broderick Crawford; filmed again in 1958 by United Artists, with music by Elmer Bernstein, starring Eartha Kitt, Sammy Davis, Jr., Rex Ingram, and James Edwards. Yordan (1914-2003) was a screenwriter and author, won an Academy Award 19554 "Broken Lance" and was nominated for "Detective Story.". Seller Inventory # 2221367
