Signed ("Phil Yordan") by Yordan, and signed and inscribed by John Wildberg (producer of the play) to composer Harold Arlen on front free endpaper, August, 1948: "With the hope that he joins our team." First presented at the Mansfield Theatre, New York City, August 30, 1944; filmed in 1949 by Columbia, starring Paulette Goddard and Broderick Crawford; filmed again in 1958 by United Artists, with music by Elmer Bernstein, starring Eartha Kitt, Sammy Davis, Jr., Rex Ingram, and James Edwards. Yordan (1914-2003) was a screenwriter and author, won an Academy Award 19554 "Broken Lance" and was nominated for "Detective Story.". Seller Inventory # 2221367
