I laughed at the time but he seems to have been a prophet-and he was a great book-man. A. Edward Newton 17 April 1931." Williams, Bannerman and Newton were all serious book-collector and Smith was only hitting his prime when he died at 50. If he hadn't, Dr. R. would not have succeded as much as he did.
