SIGNED in full & briefly INSCRIBED by the author & football star in black marker on half-title page: "To Darren (Darran, sorry), best wishes, Jason Akermanis 12". The extra name "Darran" & "sorry" was added in brackets, apparently to correct the spelling of the recipient's name (see photographs). Akermanis has also added his number "12" to the signature, as is typical (see facsimile signature on acknowledgements page). Illustrated with colour photographs. From rear cover: "Rich in talent, flamboyant and forthright, Jason Akermanis has fought demons and challenges at every turn: the absence of a father, the death of his mother, depression, ruthless coaches. Football has been his constant, and his tormentor at times. This is the story of his life - a rollercoaster ride, from livewire kid to three-time Lions premiership player". Printed in Australia. Slight handling wear, otherwise a nice clean tight solid softcover copy. 216pp. Scarce signed copy. SB-48.
