308 pp. 8vo. publisher's black cloth in dust jacket; preserved in a custom quarter morocco clamshell folding box. First edition in the earliest jacket with yellow, not orange, on the backstrip. A very good copy with a little water damage to the top of the spine, not affecting the lettering. The dust jacket is very good, with some spotting, a few small chips, and a 1" piece of clear tape on the verso at the top of the rear fold. Inscribed and signed by Ernest Hemingway on the front free endpaper "with much gratitude and admiration.".
