SIGNED BY CALLAHAN on the front free endpaper as follows: "To Frank Peirson (?) | With good Luck dayB Wishes | Robert E. Callahan." 8vo. 206p. Cream colored cloth with black letters on the spine. Just touches of wear to extremites, top and bottom of spine beginning to fray, cloth clean, else very good to near fine with no internal markings. Dust jacket missing a few chips around the edges and is lightly soiled but not price-clipped. "In order to write ASSASSINS IN WHITE, Callahna posed as a medical student, visited various hospitals, interviewed numerous doctors and many patients--even became one. He also ran want ads i a major newspaper, requesting facts. Hundreds of letters poured in, revealing names, dates and places of action." [from the dust jacket] This is a work of fiction which is also an expose based on factual background per the Author's Note. Callahan also wrote several other works, including the following: THE EVADER, THE LONE INDIAN, SANTA FE TRAIL HUMAN WHIRLPOOL, THE SINGING BANDIT, DAUGHTER OF RAMONA, WIFE WANTEDand THE WOMAN OUTLAW.
