"Examines the scope of intersections and relationships between humankind and other creatures, seeking to draw out the contradictions that have shaped our relationships with animals throughout history. The animals she portrays range from beloved house pets to circus animals and even road kill. Weaving imagery of Life and Death, Plumb plays with the whole gamut of attachments and emotions we hold toward animals" (Publisher's blurb). "She uses color, frame, and focus to draw our attention to details that are alternately humorous, delightful, and disturbing, making our views of her pictures an ever-changing experience" (Museum of Contemporary Photography). An absolute "must-have" title for Colleen Plumb collectors. This copy is very prominently and beautifully signed and inscribed in black ink-pen on the title page by the photographer: "For Paul, with admiration and many thanks. Colleen Plumb". It is signed directly on the page itself, not on a tipped-in page. The recipient, Paul Berlanga, is the Chicago-based photography expert and important artist/painter. This title is now collectible.
