5, [1] p.: music; 32 cm. Removed from a volume of sheet music published from 1825 to 1850 with former owner's name on the front: "E. C. K. Seymour." Contains melody with keyboard accompaniment. The composer, Adolph Schmitz (1796-1890), came to Philadelphia from Dusseldorf in 1825 to teach at the school of music established by the Musical Fund Society. Although that school only existed for a few years, Schmitz remained active as a French horn player and composer. His son Charles M. Schmitz was a cellist, conductor of the Germanis Orchestra, and choirmaster at St. James Church. Scarce. In Good+ Condition: closed 0.5-cm. tear in fore-edge of each leaf; solidly foxed; otherwise, clean. Seller Inventory # 010095
