Paperback. Sixteen poems to plunge into Jangbu's Imaginarium. Deeply rooted in the ancient heritage of Buddhist culture, fertilized by a nomad's eye, and grown in the rays of light from China and Tibet, these poems blossom and flutter with grace. Yet their fragrance is sharp, carrying the arresting power of magical realism. This item is printed on demand. About the Author
Heather Stoddard, also known as Heather Karmay, was the head-professor at the National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations (Inalco), in charge of teaching the Tibetan language, history, and literature. Heather Stoddard, born in Epsom, England, studied Chinese and Tibetan at the School of Oriental and African Studies (in London) and at the Sorbonne. She was the first scholar to address the study of modern Tibetan intellectuals, including Gendün Chöphel, Döndrup Gyel, and Chenaktsang Dorje Tsering. Her interest in the history of Tibetan art has made her an expert in the field. She has wonderfully rendered into English Jangbu's poetry and prose.
