Two thick leather-bound albums (41 cm.), with simple gilt-lettering to spines ("Spain"). Some scuffing to boards. Contents of first volume: 58 albumen print photographs, ranging from 25 x 35 cm (or the reverse), to 17 x 22 cm., with half of the prints bearing printed captions in-negatives. Second volume: 76 albumen print photographs, the majority being 15 x 22 cm. (or the reverse), with a dozen measuring 34 x 35 cm.; most prints bearing printed captions in-negative. Captured by a variety of photographers, including J. Laurent of Madrid. Most notably, a number of impressive views of Andalusia (Gibraltar, Cordoba, Sevilla, Granada), along with dozens of images of Moorish architecture, including a dozen images of the Alhambra. Also captured: architecture, cityscapes, and street scenes from Salamanca, Toledo, and Burgos.
