nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - A hush falls over the parlour as deft hands flick a card into the air, and the impossible becomes real for a moment-this is the world conjured by a master of mechanical magic and sleight of hand. Within these pages, the secrets of illusionists are laid bare, revealing the ingenious methods and subtle artistry behind stage illusions and conjuring that once dazzled Victorian audiences. The book delves into the creation and operation of mechanical magic devices, the delicate psychology of misdirection, and the intricate routines that transform ordinary objects into the instruments of wonder. Richly detailed yet accessible, it guides both the aspiring magician and the fascinated observer through the labyrinth of parlour magic techniques and vintage magic methods, offering a unique window into the craft's golden era. What sets this work apart is its blend of practical instruction and historical insight, capturing the atmosphere of candlelit stages and the quiet tension of a well-executed trick. The routines described here are more than mere curiosities; they are the foundation of modern magician skills, passed down through generations and still studied by performers seeking to master the art of deception. The text's clarity and precision make it a valuable illusionist handbook, while its period charm and authentic voice evoke the thrill of discovering conjuring secrets long thought lost. This book was out of print for decades and is now republished by Alpha Editions. It has been restored for today's and future generations. This edition is not just a reprint - it's a collector's item and a cultural treasure. For collectors, enthusiasts, and anyone drawn to the enduring allure of performance magic, this volume offers not only instruction but also a rare connection to the ingenuity and imagination of a vanished era.…
