JITKA HANZLOVÁ (Náchod 1958-lebt und arbeitet in Deutschland). Mutter mit Kind, 1993. Aus der Serie "Tonga". C-Print, späterer Abzug, datiert 2001. Bildmass 29,4 x 19,3 cm; Blattgrösse 40,5 x 30,5 cm. Verso voll signiert, datiert und nummeriert 22/120. Jitka Hanzlová wuchs in Rokytník auf, einem Dorf in Ostböhmen.1982 flüchtete sie aus Prag und beantragte politisches Asyl in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, wo sie seither lebt. Ganz entgegen dem dominierenden Stil der heutigen Zeit, arbeitet sie mit grosser Ruhe an Portraits von Bauern, Frauen und Kinder aber auch an Landschaftsaufnahmen. Mit Behutsamkeit und Leichtigkeit nähert sie sich ihrem Motiv und zeigt es einfach in seiner Existenz. Die fragile Farbigkeit trägt dabei wesentlich zur Atmosphäre des Bildes bei. Sienlässt uns die Weite des Blicks zurückbinden, beginnt Oberflächen abzutasten, den Reichtum im Nahen finden. In ihrem photographischen Werk findet sich die Bildsprache von Diane Arbus, Walker Evans, Robert Frank, Joel Sternfeld oder William Eggleston. Jitka Hanzlová grew up in Rokytník, a village in Eastern Bohemia. In 1982 she fled Prague and applied for political asylum in the Federal Republic of Germany, where she has lived ever since. Quite contrary to the dominant style of today, she works with great calm on portraits of peasants, women and children, but also on landscape photographs. With caution and ease she approaches her subject and shows it simply in its existence. The fragile colorfulness contributes significantly to the atmosphere of the image. Sien lets us bind back the vastness of the gaze, begins to scan surfaces, find the richness in the near. In her photographic work we find the visual language of Diane Arbus, Walker Evans, Robert Frank, Joel Sternfeld or William Eggleston.
