B&W silver gelatin photograph of 3 Maori women, in front of a carved whare, who were guides to the pink and white terraces at Lake Rotomahana, near Rotorua.The terraces were destroyed by the eruption of Mt Tarawera in June 1886, and this photograph will have been taken by Elizabeth or George Pulman of the Auckland Pulman studios before that date. Mounted on original card with red caption. Card 32 x 29 cm, image 29 x 23 cm. Seller Inventory # 019994
