La paisible ville normande de Montcour est bouleversée par le meurtre de Marie Delcourt, une bibliothécaire respectée, retrouvée poignardée sur la Place du Marché. Les indices mystérieux laissés sur la scène, dont une rose noire et des symboles gravés, intriguent le commissaire Luc Besson. Pour élucider cette affaire, il fait appel à Didier Marchand, un détective privé renommé, accompagné de Pauline Moreau, une journaliste déterminée.
En enquêtant, Didier et Pauline découvrent que Marie menait une double vie : au-delà de son image publique irréprochable, elle était impliquée dans un réseau de corruption impliquant des figures influentes de la région. Tandis qu'ils approfondissent leurs recherches, des menaces anonymes surgissent, rendant l'enquête de plus en plus périlleuse.
Leurs investigations révèlent également des tensions familiales et des rivalités qui pourraient être liées au crime. Malgré les obstacles et les rebondissements, Didier et Pauline parviennent à démasquer le meurtrier lors d'une confrontation intense, tout en exposant les ramifications d'une corruption systémique dans Montcour.
À la fin de l'affaire, la vérité rétablie, Montcour retrouve une certaine tranquillité, bien que marquée par les événements. Didier et Pauline, transformés par cette expérience, réfléchissent à leur futur commun et aux nouvelles enquêtes qui les attendent.
Jérôme Noirval est né à Bourges, une ville riche en histoire et en culture située au coeur de la France. Il a grandi dans une famille de classe moyenne où l'amour des livres et de la lecture était omniprésent. Son père, instituteur, et sa mère, bibliothécaire, lui ont inculqué dès son plus jeune âge une passion pour les mots et les histoires.
Après avoir obtenu son baccalauréat avec mention, Jérôme a poursuivi des études en lettres modernes à l'Université de Tours. Durant ces années universitaires, il a commencé à écrire ses premières nouvelles, souvent inspirées par les oeuvres d'Agatha Christie, Arthur Conan Doyle, et les maîtres du polar français comme Georges Simenon.
Les intrigues de Jérôme Noirval sont habilement construites, avec une attention particulière aux détails et aux indices disséminés tout au long de l'histoire. Il puise son inspiration dans les classiques du genre policier, mais aussi dans les mystères de la vie quotidienne.

You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.

Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
