Add to basket[Women's Rights] Philippa Strachey. "Memorandum on the Position of English Women in Relation to that of English Men". Westminster: London & National Society for Women's Service, 1935. Report comparing the position and rights of women and men across England and Wales. 31 pages. Blue paper wrappers. Toning and foxing to wrappers, crease in bottom right corner of front wrapper. Good condition. This memorandum compares political, legal, religious, economic, and educational rights and differences between English men and women. The report was made under the recommendation of the Council for the Representation of Women in the League of Nations, which supported the publication. The document outlines progress that has been made in legal and political rights, but also outlines the most critical work yet to be done: types of work open to women, equal pay, and rights for married women to work.
