Quarto, two letters, two pages, on Tuskegee letterhead, with their original mailing envelopes, formerly folded, 1906 letter a bit wrinkled, some staining to edges, adhesive residue, as the letters were formerly housed in an album, else in good condition. Henry Pleasants Jr. (1884-1963) was the president of the Civics Club at Haverford College when, as a student, he invited Booker T. Washington to visit and speak at Haverford in 1905. Washington thanks Pleasant for inviting him to speak and in the 1906 letter he thanks Pleasant for the financial contribution to Tuskegee made by Pleasant and the Haverford Civics Club.
