Add to basketA promotional brochure for what was then a new plastic paint that would produce a rough texture to simulate stucco, a finish that went along with Mediterranean architecture that was popular in the 1920s. Scarce -- surprisingly, perhaps, no institutional copies shown on OCLC First Search. 4to. 28 by 21.5 cm. 22 pp. With eight pages featuring full color illustration -- photos which have then been enhanced so they appear to hover between photographic and drawn illustration. These pages are tantamount to color plates inasmuch as the captions, three or four lines, take up a small portion of the pages. Almost all the other pages have black and white photos. In the first instance, the photo takes up virtually the whole page. The center two facing pages have four photos dominating. Otherwise, text wraps around smaller photos. Drop caps, caption headings, simple ornaments scattered are printed in orange. We include with the brochure three loose, as issued, sample sheets, showcasing three different colors. The samples are mounted on thin card leaves, 24.5 by 17 cm. As the samples are called Plates I, IV, and V, we obviously have just a few of the ones the company put out, but we would emphasize this doesn't represent an issue with our fundamental offering here. The plates are in addition to the brochure, not a part of the brochure. The brochure is complete. The wraps have light soiling and some edgewear. Wraps. The card is textured to suggest that of the wall material being promoted.

The shipping cost provided automatically by ABE assumes that the item is the size of an average hardcover book. Since our stock is comprised largely of material which is bigger and heavier, we will often need to request additional shipping charges as a result. We pride ourselves on always packing safely, with the actual materials and method of packing depending on the item(s), where it is going, and with whom we are shipping. We most frequently use the post office, but on some high value items, or upon request, we may use alternatively UPS or FedEx. With the postal service, to domestic destinations with lower value items and the automatically furnished ABE shipping quote, we will usually use Media Mail; on higher value items we are partial to Priority or Express Mail. We will always seek to comply with a customer's wishes if they are communicated to us. When we seek additional shipping charges, we pass along those charges at our cost -- we do not add for handling or materials generally.
