Signed Walter Lantz in black ink. Walter Lantz Productions letterhead dated July 24, 1975. Letter measures 7.25" X 10.50" and is in FINE condition. Letter reads, "Dear Steve: In reply to your letter of 16 July - if your ambition is to become a cartoonist, I would suggest that you study art and get a good academic education in various forms of art, such as figure drawing, landscapes and free hand drawing. Then if you wish to become a cartoonist it will be much easier for you. When jobs are available in the animation industry, we only hire people that have had experience, or have a good art education. Sincerely, (signed) Walter Lantz". Walter Lantz (April 27, 1899 ? March 22, 1994) was an American cartoonist, animator, producer and director best known for founding Walter Lantz Productions and creating Woody Woodpecker.
