Typed Letter signed dated July 31, 1972. One page, University of Cincinnati letterhead measuring 8 1/2" X 11". The letter is addressed to M.O. Thompson at the NASA Flight Research Center in Edwards, California. At the time, Thompson was the Director of Research Projects at the NASA Dryden (now Armstrong) Flight Research Center. "Dear Milt: The enclosed paper, which you may have read, was presented at the Cocoa Beach conference in March. Would you do me the favor of a quick and dirty set of comments? I'd be interested in the accuracy of his comments with regard to the NASA flight evaluation program and your own views as to the adequacy of his conclusions (and anything else you'd care to comment on). Milton Orville Thompson (May 4, 1926 ? August 6, 1993) (Lt Cmdr, USNR), better known as Milt Thompson, was an American naval officer, aviator, engineer, and NASA research pilot. He was one of twelve pilots who flew the North American X-15, an experimental spaceplane jointly operated by the United States Air Force and NASA.
