Addressed to the editor of the Daily Mirror, thanking him for the impressions, particularly of German soldiers that were sent to him. Field Marshall Sir Henry Evelyn Wood (1838-1919) was awarded the VC for bravery during the Indian Mutiny. He went on to serve in the Ashanti, Zulu and Boer wars, and in Egypt, then being appointed to a number of positions in administration of the British army, until retiring in 1904. 18.5 x 23 cm.
