About this Item
Justice of the New York Supreme Court David F. Manning (1857-1929) neatly signed this stately portrait of himself seated in his justice robes. Manning was elected as a justice to the New York Supreme Court in 1912. He also served as the President of the Brooklyn Bar Association and was Vice President of the New York State Bar Association. The 9 1/8" x 7 1/4" photo is tipped onto the original thin cardstock which measures: 14" x 10". The cardstock is blind stamped with the Montague Studio's logo at the bottom, signed in ink by Manning and signed in pencil by, we assume, the photographer ["Damph"?]. Condition: Minor toning around edges of the mount, otherwise very good condition with a large, bold signature and a striking bit of photo portraiture. Seller Inventory # A01234
