Protests Japan's Alien Registration Law, under which foreign residents were required to provide their fingerprint and photograph for a certificate to be carried on their person at all times. A Japan Times article from 1987 describes a Canadian missionary named John McIntosh as wearing one of these pins; he was challenging the law, along with some Korean residents in Osaka.
