He gives citations in Hansard and elsewhere (the latest dated 11 March 1844) to cases of Lord Althorp and Goulburn, concluding: I am almost ashamed of referring to my Evidence as authority[.] I only allude to it as giving the clearest & most distinct expression of my opinion.
