An Original Hand R and J Beck Manufacturer of Optical, Mathematical and Physical Instruments Written Letter and Signed by Joseph Beck. Dated 1887. A letter from Beck about trying to obtain a book for Mr Heywood. Richard Beck 1827-1866 and Joseph Beck 1828-1891 formed the optical manufacturing firm of R and J Beck in 1843, based at 69 Mortimer Street, London. Credited with helping to raise the status of the use of microscopes within scientific research. Camera lenses of R and J Beck are known as Beck Ensign, and the Frena camera was developed in the 1890s, using celluloid films.The company is still going strong today. Size is 190mm x 125mm. Orders usually shipped within 2 business days. Shipping costs are based on books weighing 2.2 LB, or 1 KG. If your book order is heavy or oversized, we may contact you to let you know if extra shipping is required.
All overseas orders with priority shipping (8 days+) will be sent by either tracked airsure or international signed for. The slower postal rates (14 days +) will be sent by standard airmail and will take longer to arrive. We recommend to all our customers to use the priority shipping as this is a much quicker and secure method of shipment.
