In English, French, German Italian and shorthard. 11 x 92 mm. With canceled Turkish postage stamp with a face value of 20 Turkish Para. Divided back. In acid free Mylar envelope. Black and white image with red lettering. Postmark in English and Arabic or Turkish: 1- 4- [?]8 [in Arabic numbers: 4.1.19 HAIFA. Oval purple ink stamp: GRAND NEW HOTEL Haifa Palestine A. NASSAR On Recto bottom center: "P.P.P. and Rom VIII" The message is dated 31 December 1908. It's postmarked January 4, 1919 and is addressed to: Mr. Horace Greg / 96 Elthorne Avenue / Hanwell / London / England It is written in shorthand, probably in Gregg or Pitman. On bottom right recto appear:" C.H.B." , which may the initials of the writer. The Haifa hotel was owned by Ibrahim Nassar (Abraham Nassar) which was apparently situated on Allenby Street, Haifa. Its telephone number was 145. The hotel owner was the brother of a notorious journalist Najib Nassar, who, amongother things, led a campaign to prevent Arabs from selling land to Jews.
