ALS dated December 10 1876, 18 x 11 cm, 2 pages with half page cut away after Grace's signature. Letter headed 'CCC' (Surrey? County Cricket Club). "Dear Sir, Your letter has been forwarded to me. we are going to plat at Edinburgh on the very days you name May 24.25.26. So we cannot make a match with you then. I should be pleased to bring the United South to play a match with you in September next, if you think of this, please drop me a line as soon as possible as we shall have very few dates open. I am, yours truly, W.G.Grace" Grace (1848-1915) twice captained the English test match side and established a legendary record in first-class cricket. Seller Inventory # 017946
