About this Item
ALS. Single sheet, hand-written, headed ?19 Upper Grosvenor Street?, accepting an invitation to dine with a Mr Williams, to meet the Rev. Roger Price. Dated Saturday, 190 March, 1877. Grant (1827-1892) served in the British Army in India, and then in 1860, joined John Speke in his famous expedition to the source of the Nile in Africa, writing his own account in 1864, and remaining loyal to Speke. The Rev Roger Price mentioned in the letter was the London Missionary Society missionary who established missions in East Africa. Seller Inventory # 019209
