22 p.; 23 cm. Grey wrapper printed in black. The Century Association is a private club founded in 1847 for men with distinction in literature or the arts; women were not admitted until 1988. The deaths of a number of members in the first 9 months of 1875 inspired the drafting and publication of memorial notices of those recently deceased members. Includes memorial notices of: George templeton Strong, Gouverneur Kemble, Ogden Haggerty, William Oliver Stone, Joseph gaillard, Samuel D. Tillman, William Hegeman, and William Tilden Blodgett. Scarce. In Very Good Condition: wrapper very lightly soiled; minor loss at corners; light creasing at page corners; otherwise, clean and solid. Seller Inventory # 008940
