About this Item

Four page cross-hatch letter dated "Alcatraz Island, Cal, Jan. 14, 1883" and address to Fanny Howe in Leonminster, Massachusetts. It is signed "affectionately, cousin, L.D. Hoff." The letter talks of family happenings, and what appears to be Fanny's father moving to California to live with Hoff for his health. There also seems to be a feud going on, though Hoff says "I had a bone to pick with you, but am now prepared to bury it amicably." The letter comes with it's original envelope and a bullseye postmark cancel. In good condition. Seller Inventory # 1319
