Famed conductor Leopold Stokowski (1882-1977) boldly scribbled his name on this 1923 typed letter to Adolph Vogel of the Main Line Orchestra Association. Stokowski reveals his financial situation in the letter, telling Vogel that he isn't able to subscribe to the Main Line Orchestra because, "I have the most tremendous financial responsibilities at present which have exhausted all the money I have, so I am deeply in debt." Stokowski is best known for his free-hand conducting style and his long tenure leading the Philadelphia Orchestra. Typed on a 7 1/8" x 8 3/8"sheet of Stowkowski's personal stationery as conductor of the Philadelphia Orchestra . Condition: Fold lines, slim toned line at all edges, otherwise good condition.
