The suite "Scenes Alsaciennes" was first produced in Paris in 1882, though written earlier. This French sheet music cover is inscribed in brown ink to Julien Torchet, music critic and friend, and dated "Paris/82". Jules Massenet (1842-1912), the French Romantic composer, is best known for his operas, but he also wrote orchestral works, songs, ballets, etc. 10 3/4" x 7 1/2".
