This book delves into the history of the Latin language's use of the genitive case, tracing its evolution over thirteen centuries from its prominence in Classical Latin to its eventual decline. The author examines how the genitive case played a variety of roles, from expressing possession and origin to signifying cause and separation. Exploring both common and less frequent constructions, this book offers a comprehensive understanding of the nuances of the genitive case in Latin literature. Through this analysis, it sheds light on the development and transformation of the Latin language, capturing its richness and complexity. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.
