First American printing of the 3rd, revised, enlarged German edition. Nobel laureate in Physics Emilio Segrč's copy with his signed bookplate to front endpage and also signed and dated 1946 by Segrč on the title page. In addition Segrč has made a pencil equation to one margin and corrections in ink to the appendix "universelle konstanten" (universal constants). All text in German, but there is a 3 page German-English Glossary at the rear. Full navy cloth, gilt title to spine, no dust jacket. Only other markings besides Segrč's are a small amount of Peter Howard's catalog notes in pencil (easily erasable) to front free endpage. Peter owned the legendary Berkeley bookshop Serendipity Books and was a president of the ABAA. Minor shelfwear. Rare with Emilio Segrč's signed bookplate and ownership signature.
