Single sheet, 34 x 25", printed on one side, folded and mounted into yellow, heavy paper covers, 6.25 x 3.5". _____ The covers are lightly soiled, the map is fine and crisp._____ The map is titled: "Whitney'S Map / Of / Seattle / And / Environs / Washington / Compiled From Official Records / By / O.P. Anderson And Co. / Engineers And Draughtsmen / 1890"._____ This map documents Seattle at the edge of the boom years of the 1890s._____    It is a plat map with subdivisions hand-colored and owners' names included._____    Commercial docks and coal bunkers on Elliott Bay are located and identified._____   The route of the Seattle Lakeshore and Eastern Railroad and various cable car companies are indicated._____ Also shown are ferry lines across Lake Washington._____ There two untitled, black & white inset maps._____  The first is a 5.25 x 6" map of the state._____  The second is an 8 x 6.5" map of the Puget Sound area, including King County and adjacent parts of Pierce and Snohomish counties._____  Both the insets have railroad routes in bold._____ There is a Union Pacific logo at the southwest corner._____ The Streeter sale copy was folded to a similar size but was in cloth covers._____  The Rumsey copy appears to have been folded to result in a much larger binding (16 x 10"), somewhat stretching the pocket._____.
