Item description from seller

From the last of the highly decorative steel engraved atlases of the 19th century. Decorative foliate border with vignettes of the township of Kingston, Niagara Falls, indigenous Indians, a beaver and a seal indicating that the "Province of Canada" is a British possession. The vignettes are delicately coloured and the map has original outline colour of boundaries added by hand. Very slight toning through the centre from the centre fold as issued, but otherwise in excellent condition, a crisp impression with full margins. Verso blank. Unconditionally guaranteed original. Image area c.330 x 245 mm.
